Job summary

The ideal candidate will have a Pharmacist license, a Bachelor’s in Pharmacy, and strong knowledge of chemotherapy agents, IV admixture, and med safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • Licensed pharmacist in good standing demonstrating clinical competency.
  • Experience applying pharmacology principles to patient care and dosing decisions.
  • Strong communication with healthcare teams and ability to interpret orders accurately.
  • Familiarity with hospital pharmacy operations, safety standards and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Check all medications leaving the department for accuracy and quality.
  • Retrieve or verify information about chemotherapy agents as needed.
  • Ensure IV admixture accuracy and proper preparation procedures.
  • Enter orders correctly into the computer and maintain current MARs.
  • Verify dosages on physician orders for patient appropriateness.
  • Dispense medications per policy with timely accuracy and proper labeling.
  • Collaborate with physicians and nurses to resolve drug interactions or allergies.
  • Oversee technicians in Omnicell operations and ensure correct dispensing.
