Job summary

University of Illinois Chicago seeks a full-time Clinical Faculty/Clinical Pharmacist to join UI Health’s pulmonary telemedicine team. You will provide pharmaceutical care for asthma and COPD, collaborate with clinicians, and contribute to teaching and research in a 450-bed academic hospital.

The role involves clinical and academic duties, with responsibilities for program development, quality initiatives, and routine didactic and clinical teaching of DPh students and residents.

Qualifications

• PharmD and PGY1 residency experience required.
• PGY2 Ambulatory Care residency or 2-3 years of equivalent clinical experience preferred.
• Evidence of, or eligibility for, Illinois licensure as a professional pharmacist at time of employment.
• Academic rank commensurate with experience.
• Strong clinical knowledge base; analytical and problem-solving skills; strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to meet deadlines; flexibility and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Provide pharmaceutical care to patients with pulmonary diseases (e.g. asthma, COPD) in IDOC pulmonary telemedicine clinic.
• Develop and implement evidence-based care plans with treating practitioners; adjust drug therapy as needed; order labs.
• Lead nurse, physician, and pharmacy staff development; coordinate quality initiative projects; develop collaborative protocols.
• Academic duties include lecturing and precepting DPh students and residents; contribute to scholarly activities.
