Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to provide inpatient pharmacy services in a fast-paced hospital setting. The role supports multiple service lines, verifies orders, and promotes medication safety while coordinating with pharmacists and technicians.

The position operates on a 7-on, 7-off schedule from 12:00pm to 11:30pm, with opportunities to educate students and staff and to participate in safety initiatives and accreditation compliance.

Qualifications

• PharmD or BS in Pharmacy from an accredited college.
• Current State licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible for reciprocation within 90 days of hire.
• BLS certification for immunizations where required or completion within 90 days of hire.
• ACLS or PALS certification required within one year of hire for applicable roles.

Responsibilities

• Verify and enter medication orders; dispense accurately per regulations.
• Provide operational pharmacy support across service lines and respond in real time.
• Collaborate with pharmacists and technicians to promote medication safety.
• Document services fully and timely in the patient record.
• Ensure all pharmacy operations meet national accreditation standards.
• Direct staff to provide safe, efficient care and maintain professional relationships.

As a Clinical Pharmacist, a caregiver in this role will provide inpatient pharmacy services at Hillcrest Hospital, a community-based acute care hospital supporting a broad patient population across multiple service lines. Located in the hospital’s basement, the pharmacy supports moderate-to-high inpatient volume, including patients receiving care in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics and the Emergency Department. Responsibilities include verifying and entering medication orders, providing operational pharmacy support across service lines, collaborating with pharmacists and technicians to promote medication safety and efficient workflows and responding to clinical and operational needs in real time. The caregiver will help ensure accurate and timely medication services while supporting daily pharmacy operations in a fast-paced hospital environment.

A caregiver in this position will work a 7-on, 7-off, evening schedule from 12:00pm to 11:30pm.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide safe, efficient, patient-centered, evidence-based medication services.
• Verify medication orders and/or dispenses medications accurately according to state and federal regulations.
• Document services in a complete, accurate and timely manner.
• Actively contribute to medication safety initiatives.
• Ensure all pharmacy operations are in compliance with national accreditation standards.
• Directs staff appropriately to provide safe and efficient care and maintain professional working relationships with all caregivers.
• Educate and train students, residents, other caregivers and/or patients.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• PharmD or Bachelor’s of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college of Pharmacy
• Current State licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible for reciprocation in current state within 90 days of hire
• For individuals required to administer immunizations, Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross andcompletion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course inthe administration of immunizations or certificationobtained within 90 days of hire are required.
• For individuals required to respond to adult or pediatriccardiopulmonary arrest events, currentAdvancedCardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or PediatricAdvanced Life Support (PALS)Certification through American Heart Association (AHA), orcertification obtained within one (1) year of hire, is required.

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Board Certification
• Completion of a post-graduate year 1 residency (PGY1), fellowship or relevant post-graduate pharmacy experience preferred.
• Post-graduate year 2 residency (PGY2) or relevant experience preferred for Clinical Pharmacists hired in a Specialized Pharmacy practice area

Physical Requirements

• Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing and walking for prolonged times, approximately 75% of shift and continuously for extended periods of time.
• Manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer and dispensing functions of the job; ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Position often includes reaching, stretching, stooping, climbing steps and sitting.
• Must have normal or corrected vision.
• Must have ability to clearly communicate verbally by phone or in person

Pay Range

Minimum Annual Salary: $101,900.00

Maximum Annual Salary: $155,390.00
