$60.00/hr - $65.00/hr

Pay Range: $60 - $65/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

Key Responsibilities:
  • The main function of a pharmacist is to dispense prescription medications to patients and offer expertise in the safe use of prescriptions.
  • They also may conduct health and wellness screenings, provide immunizations, oversee the medications given to patients, and provide advice on healthy lifestyles.
  • Responsibilities include preparing medications by reviewing physician orders, detecting therapeutic incompatibilities, dispensing medications by compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.
  • Controlling medications by monitoring drug therapies and advising interventions.
  • Completing pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and directing technicians' workflow, verifying their work, and ensuring accuracy in order entries, charges, and inspections.
  • Providing pharmacological information by answering questions from healthcare professionals and counseling patients on drug therapies.
  • Developing hospital staff's pharmacological knowledge through participation in clinical programs, training pharmacy staff, students, interns, externs, residents, and healthcare professionals.
  • Reviewing prior authorization requests, verifying member details, and assessing coverage and eligibility.
  • Evaluating prescription claim history, reviewing chart notes/lab values, and applying medical policy criteria to prior authorization requests.
  • Researching drug references and clinical information to facilitate prior authorization review and communicating with physicians regarding drug requests and plan benefits.
  • Retrieving and analyzing data through reporting resources, supporting formulary decisions, and other related tasks.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
  • Prior Authorization experience
  • At least one year of professional RPh experience
  • Experience working in managed care, understanding Medicare/Medicaid laws (preferred)
  • Self-motivated with good time management skills
  • Proficiency in Office Suite
  • Goal-oriented mindset
  • Education/Certification: Pharm D.
  • Licensure: Valid license in any US state
