Job summary

JobRx, Inc. seeks a Clinically Skilled Staff Pharmacist to ensure accurate drug distribution for hospital inpatients and outpatients while evaluating regimens and supporting clinical rounds. The incumbent will supervise Pharmacy Technicians and serve as a resource to the department and hospital staff.

The role emphasizes clinical care, pharmacist leadership, and ongoing quality assurance within a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of pharmacy and completion of clinical skills modules 1-8 required within one year of hire.
• Current pharmacist licensure within State of Rhode Island.
• BLS (CPR) certification desired.
• Hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competency, individually and as part of the multidisciplinary team, in performing clinical care and assessment of all patient populations.
• Processes medication orders as written by a physician or other legitimate prescriber.
• Evaluates medication therapy to determine appropriateness of drug regimen as it relates to medical condition, treatment plan and age of patient.
• Checks technician completed tasks.
• Ensures all parenteral products are prepared properly.
• Participates in clinical areas.
• Research preparation techniques for commercially unavailable products.
• Provides drug information to hospital patients and health care professionals.
• Maintains professional competency through continuing education.
• Participates in departmental quality assurance activities.
• Assists in the management of pharmacy inventory.
• Preserves and protects patients' rights to confidentiality.
• Performs other job-related duties as requested.
