Job summary

AdventHealth in Ocala, FL is seeking a licensed pharmacist to educate patients and healthcare teams on safe medication use and to participate in stewardship efforts. The role includes direct patient care, rounds, and ensuring safe transitions of care from admission to discharge.

By supervising technicians and supporting team development, you will help resolve medication safety issues. A Doctorate is preferred, with a PharmD field of study and hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Educate and counsel patients, families, and healthcare team on medication use
• Provide safe, timely, and cost-effective therapy; participate in stewardship and safety programs
• Engage in direct patient care and rounds; ensure smooth transitions from admission to discharge
• Supervise and mentor pharmacy staff and students; support team learning
• Identify and report medication safety events and adverse reactions

Job Description:

• Educate and counsel patients, families, and healthcare team members on safe and effective medication use.
• Provide safe, timely, and cost-effective medication therapy; actively participate in stewardship, surveillance, and restricted-use programs.
• Engage in direct patient care and interdisciplinary rounds, ensuring smooth transitions of care from admission through discharge and follow-up.
• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate pharmacy technicians, interns, students, and residents; support team learning and development.
• Identify, report, and help resolve medication safety events, adverse drug reactions, and errors.
