AdventHealth in Orlando, FL seeks a Pharmacist to educate patients and teams on safe medication use and to participate in patient care across admission to discharge. The role includes supervising staff, addressing medication safety, and optimizing clinical documentation within pharmacy systems.

The position requires a PharmD or equivalent, active pharmacist license, and hospital experience is preferred. 2nd shift with weekend coverage is specified, offering comprehensive benefits and career

Qualificações

  • Bachelor's degree required in a related field.
  • Doctorate preferred (PharmD).
  • Licensed Pharmacist (RPH) required.

Responsabilidades

  • Educate and counsel patients, families, and healthcare team members on safe and effective medication use.
  • Provide safe, timely, and cost-effective medication therapy; participate in stewardship and monitoring.
  • Engage in direct patient care and interdisciplinary rounds; ensure smooth transitions of care.
  • Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians, interns, students, and residents.
  • Identify and report medication safety events and errors.
  • Proficient with EHRs and pharmacy systems; optimize documentation and decision support.
  • Contribute to practice advancement through research and committee involvement.
  • Perform all pharmacist functions across central, satellite, and IV areas.
  • Review orders and patient profiles to prevent drug-related problems; dosing adjustments.
  • Participate in quality initiatives, regulatory compliance, and accreditation activities.

Job Description:
  • Educate and counsel patients, families, and healthcare team members on safe and effective medication use.
  • Provide safe, timely, and cost-effective medication therapy; actively participate in stewardship, surveillance, and restricted-use programs.
  • Engage in direct patient care and interdisciplinary rounds, ensuring smooth transitions of care from admission through discharge and follow-up.
  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate pharmacy technicians, interns, students, and residents; support team learning and development.
  • Identify, report, and help resolve medication safety events, adverse drug reactions, and errors.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with EHRs, pharmacy informatics systems, and medication automation to optimize clinical decision support and documentation.
  • Contribute to professional advancement through practice innovation, research, specialty alignment (e.g., critical care, oncology, infectious disease), committee participation, and scholarly activity.
  • Perform all pharmacist functions including compounding, dispensing, verification, and documentation of medications across central, satellite, and IV areas.
  • Review and monitor medication orders and patient profiles to prevent, identify, and resolve drug-related problems; complete pharmacist consults and perform pharmacokinetic dosing, monitoring, and adjustments.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, regulatory compliance, and accreditation activities; track performance metrics (e.g., interventions, error reduction, cost savings).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Schedule:

2nd Shift Monday - Friday from 1430-2300 with every 4th weekend coverage
