First Databank (FDB) is currently seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to join our healthcare information technology team that’s turning drug and medical device data into knowledge used by thousands of hospitals, the majority of U.S. health plans, retail pharmacies, and pharmacy benefit managers, and millions of healthcare decision makers worldwide. Position is based in Carmel, IN and follows a hybrid work model, with an expectation to work onsite at least three days per week.

Responsibilities
  • Research source pharmaceutical information, make detailed observations, analyze clinical evidence, and interpret results for possible inclusion within MedKnowledge base content in a manner consistent with stated Editorial/DSG policies.
  • Direct and perform data entry tasks and verify data entry performed by other team members.
  • Independent plan and prioritize order of completion for work assigned; meet or exceed stated product maintenance standards.
  • Timely review of drug information inheritance through knowledge base drug group rules using daily Apollo reports.
  • Manage and respond to internal post‑production data audit reports.
  • Review daily data change reports and take action to resolve any inconsistencies.
  • Develop an understanding of the risks and advantages of key Apollo system forms.
  • Actively contribute to process and quality improvement efforts.
  • Provide in‑services and presentations to group members.
  • Bring challenging or controversial clinical issues to the team for discussion.
  • Begin to field customer questions using basic data analytic skills to identify the issue and deliver a possible solution; work with manager to deliver a solution.
  • Respond knowledgeably and diplomatically to a variety of customer inquiries through SalesForce.
  • Review data audits and reports daily as assigned.
  • Identify opportunities for workflow improvement, automation, and operational efficiencies within editorial and data maintenance processes.
  • Support adoption and responsible use of emerging technologies, including AI‑assisted tools and system enhancements, to improve productivity, consistency, and quality outcomes.
Required Skills
  • Multiple task prioritization and ability to seek guidance when competing priorities are present.

  • Conformance to work procedures; meet applicable deadlines, accuracy, and productivity standards.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point); basic proficiency with OnBase, SalesForce, Microsoft Teams.
  • Excellent verbal and writing capabilities.
  • Capable of working in a team environment, taking primary responsibility for supported content under direct supervision.
  • Experience helping pharmacy interns complete projects.
  • Familiarity with editorial policies, maintenance, and applications.
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn and adapt to evolving systems, technologies, and workflow tools.
  • Curiosity and willingness to explore innovative approaches, including automation and AI‑assisted solutions, to improve editorial efficiency and data quality.
  • Ability to identify workflow inefficiencies and collaborate with management and team members on process improvement and transformation initiatives.
  • Analytical thinking and comfort working with structured data, reports, system outputs, and technology‑driven workflows.
  • Experience or interest in artificial intelligence, automation tools, data analysis, or workflow optimization is highly desirable.
Required Experience
  • One year of recent experience in a clinical pharmacy, pharmacy informatics, medication data management, healthcare technology, or related pharmacy setting with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree (must be actively registered as a pharmacist in at least one state).
  • Experience supporting clinical systems, workflow optimization, healthcare databases, or technology‑enabled pharmacy processes is highly desirable.
  • Pharmacy informatics experience, informatics training, healthcare technology experience, or board certification related to informatics or clinical specialties is desirable but not required.

Compensation

In accordance with applicable law, Hearst is required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role if hired in Carmel, IN. The reasonable estimate is $100,000 to $120,000. Final salary will be based on skills, experience, training, certifications, and education.
