Job summary

Sentara Health Plans seeks a Clinical Pharmacist at Sentara Careplex Hospital in Hampton, VA. The position is part-time (40 hrs/wk) with rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays, focusing on inpatient pharmacy services.

The pharmacist will manage patient drug therapy, review orders for safety, provide in-depth counseling, and support staff training. Virginia license, BLS, and oncology experience are valued; ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• Virginia Pharmacist License required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Doctorate or Bachelor in Pharmacy required for qualification

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective, and prompt pharmacy services
• Manage patient drug therapy per clinical standards
• Review provider medication orders for safety and appropriateness
• Counsel patients and educate on therapy and medications
• Precept pharmacy students as assigned
• Support training of new staff and maintain QA standards
• Operate pharmacy equipment and ensure inventory for patient care
