Job summary

Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk, VA is seeking an Inpatient Clinical Pharmacist for a part-time, rotating shift. You will manage patient drug therapy, review orders for safety and effectiveness, provide drug information and counseling, and participate in rounds with the clinical team.

The role requires a PharmD (or bachelor’s with license) and Virginia pharmacist license; inpatient acute care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • PharmD or bachelor’s degree in pharmacy and licensure to practice in Virginia.
  • Inpatient acute care hospital experience preferred.
  • Residency training (PGY1/PGY2) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, effective, and prompt pharmacy services.
  • Manage patient drug therapy per clinical standards.
  • Review provider orders for appropriateness and safety.
  • Counsel patients and educate clinical staff.
  • Precept students and train new staff.
  • Ensure supplies and operate pharmacy equipment.
  • Participate in medication-use system improvements.
