Job Summary

The clinical lead is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the activities of the clinic and clinical team members to ensure compassionate, effective, and efficient delivery of clinical care for patients.

Duties And Responsibilities

  1. Coordinate and supervise the activities of clinical team members engaged in clinical care for patients under the supervision of a Physician or provider for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease.
  2. Organize and assign duties and tasks to clinical team members.
  3. Monitor daily performance of clinical team members to ensure duties are completed accurately, efficiently and timely; monitor and control overtime.
  4. Evaluate performance of clinical team members and conduct verbal and written performance evaluations after 30 days, 90 days, and annually as needed.
  5. Assist with interviews; conduct orientation and training on clinical policies and procedures.
  6. Identify and recommend solutions to clinical team member and office issues or problems.
  7. Ensure high quality clinical care for patients by reviewing and researching concerns or complaints and recommending corrective action as appropriate.
  8. Implement or recommend disciplinary action as needed in conjunction with Operations Manager and Human Resources department; document all disciplinary action.
  9. Ensure clinical equipment remains in operating condition.
  10. Ensure clinical policies and procedures comply with current state and federal regulations; identify and recommend policies and procedures as needed to ensure quality, compliance, accuracy, and cost efficiency; make decisions based on policies and procedures.
  11. Assist medical assistants, nurses, and providers with maintaining patient flow to ensure patients are seen efficiently.
  12. Assist medical assistants, nurses, and providers as needed by returning patient calls and completing provider orders such as medication refills, scheduling referral and/or specialist appointments, completing laboratory forms, and performing other tests as required.
  13. Attend clinical meetings and relay pertinent information to the clinical team in a timely fashion.
  14. Maintain effective working relationships with all departments including, but not limited to Operations, Human Resources, IT, etc.

Requirements And Qualification

  1. Minimum Associates Degree in health-related field, Bachelors degree preferred.
  2. Minimum five (5) years medical office experience required.
  3. Supervisory or management experience preferred.
  4. LPN or RN license required.
  5. Other related certifications and licenses will be considered (i.e. Certified ATC, RT(R), MLT, CPhT).

Physical Demands

  1. CPR/First Aid/AED certified.
  2. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, grasping, carrying, and speaking.
  3. Occasional reaching, bending, and stooping.
  4. Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds--with assistance if needed.
  5. May need to lift or turn patients who are disabled--with assistance if needed.
  6. Frequent use of computer, keyboard, copy and fax machine, and phone.
