Do you have a solid Cloud Operations background and 1+ years of experience leading a technical team? Are you excited to expand your expertise in people and project management, and want to see the big picture of your work? We are looking for a Team Leader for our SysOps teams! This role supports our GCP and on-premises infrastructure (including networking), internal services for the SysOps department, and parts of the Wrike product, including staging and production environments.

In this role, you will influence decisions, mentor, and upskill your team, enabling reliable and effective infrastructure and Cloud-based solutions. If you want to lead a team of system and network engineers, provide technical guidance and mentorship, and help colleagues optimize and automate daily tasks, we’d love to speak with you!

More about Your Team

We have 5 team members distributed across Prague, Brno, and Tallinn. The entire SysOps department comprises 4 teams with 20+ people across Europe. We are seeking someone to take ownership of the team’s scope, and serve as a manager and mentor for team members.

The team’s focus includes:

• Managing on-prem data center infrastructure (including network)
• Working with GCP, Cloudflare, and other 3rd-party services in an IaaC paradigm
• Logging, monitoring, and configuration management platforms
• Internal process automation and infrastructure testing
• Running several product and internal applications

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Managing a mid-sized team of system and network engineers
• Assuming technical lead and ownership of Wrike’s product and infrastructure in both on-prem and cloud environments
• Liaising with other SysOps team leaders on strategy, projects, and daily management
• Providing technical guidance and mentorship
• Helping automate and optimize daily tasks
• Guiding the team to meet objectives

• We run Java, NodeJS, and PHP applications in Kubernetes and standalone VMs
• We use Nginx, HAproxy, and Istio for load balancing
• Kafka and RabbitMQ for messaging
• PostgreSQL and MySQL databases
• Graylog, Logstash, Fluentd for logging
• Prometheus (VictoriaMetrics) and Zabbix for monitoring
• Puppet, Ansible, Terraform for infrastructure as code
• Jenkins and Gitlab-CI for pipelines
• Python for automation
• Cloud providers include GCP, AWS, and Cloudflare
• Operations in on-prem datacenters with Juniper equipment

Ideal Candidate

• Experience leading a team
• Strong Linux fundamentals and web application experience
• Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, routing
• Experience with Git or other VCS
• High responsibility, eagerness to grow, and passion for work

Additional Skills That Are a Plus

• Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible/Puppet/Salt)
• Experience with CI/CD tools (GitlabCI/Jenkins)
• Cloud experience with AWS or GCP managing Terraform, Kubernetes
