Job description

South Georgia North Florida Eye Partners offers a variety of eye care services, including detection and medical treatment of eye diseases and injuries, advanced procedures such as LASIK and cataract surgeries, and on‑site optical shop services. The practice has several locations in Valdosta, Tifton, Douglas, Madison, and Moultrie.

We are looking for a Clinical Operations Manager to manage, lead, and support the operations of assigned practice locations. In conjunction with the Practice Administrator and/or Assistant Administrator, the manager will enhance operational efficiencies, improve patient satisfaction, and support the practice’s financial and mission goals.

Responsibilities
  • Manage day‑to‑day clinical operations, including patient flow, diagnostic testing, and technician exam components.
  • Assist with clinical tasks such as history taking, visual acuity, confrontation visual fields, extra‑ocular motility assessment, pupil assessment, intra‑ocular pressure measurement, refraction, diagnostic imaging (OCT, ultrasound, A‑scan biometry, visual field, pachymetry, topography, dry eye testing, fundus photography), and supplemental testing (Amsler grid, color vision, stereopsis, exophthalmometry, BAT, PAM).
  • Perform minor procedure assistance and maintain sterilization standards for instruments.
  • Accurately document and code all exam types, consults, and surgical procedures.
  • Pharmacology: identify and assist with prescribing and/or administration of oral and intra‑ocular medications, understanding purpose, action, and side effects.
  • Support timely completion of all clinical administrative duties, including prescription refills, patient messages, and documentation audits.
  • Maintain communication with the clinical training team regarding technicians in training.
  • Comply with all practice procedures, protocols, and State and Federal regulations.
  • Oversee direct reports: hire, train, develop, support, evaluate performance, and manage termination in coordination with Human Resources.
  • Maintain inventory, track PAR levels, and order supplies via D365; complete monthly inventory counts and report procurement concerns.
  • Lead daily team huddles, monthly meetings, and the daily/weekly staff scheduling process, coordinating last‑minute schedule changes.
  • Collaborate with physicians to develop schedule templates and communicate changes to clinical and contact center teams.
  • Respond to patient relations inquiries and resolve complaints.
  • Develop and train staff on clinical standard operating procedures and new policies.
  • Report potential or suspected errors to the Compliance Officer.
  • Contribute to team tasks or projects as needed.
  • Maintain a positive, cooperative, self‑motivated, courteous, and professional attitude.
  • Coach and mentor team members to foster continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Manage relationships with third‑party retail and equipment vendors; schedule maintenance to keep equipment operational.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience as a leader in an ophthalmic environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of ophthalmic skills, concepts, and a basic overview of ophthalmic diseases.
  • Current iJCAHPO COA certification required; COT or higher preferred.
  • Experience with Nextech/ICP strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced clinical environment and independently with little oversight.
