Job summary

UF Health in Jacksonville, FL seeks a Back Office Supervisor to coordinate day-to-day clinic activities for the ambulatory setting. You will supervise 1–10 Medical Assistants and act as liaison with staff, departments and patients.

Responsibilities include performing Medical Assistant functions, supporting providers, payroll, budgeting, policy compliance, and quality checks. CMA certification and BLS are required at hire; travel up to 10% may be needed.

Qualifications

• 2 years experience in a physician office required
• 1 year Medical Assistant experience in same or similar specialty required
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) required at time of hire; Registered Medical Assistant preferred; Basic Life Support (BLS) required at time of hire

Responsibilities

• Performs all Medical Assistant functions.
• Implements and provides appropriate clinical support in conjunction with planned activities of the ambulatory setting to support medical providers.
• With guidance from immediate manager, assists with personnel and payroll functions including hiring, training and coaching of staff.
• Ensures appropriate budgetary standards are implemented for labor and supply monitoring.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory and organizational policies and procedures with the clinical staff; recommends changes as needed.
• Participates in regulatory and proficiency checks for quality management and accreditation requirements.
• Maintains testing result processes for tests/referrals to other departments for physician staff.
• Maintains high level of customer service in the back office for patients, physicians and inter-departmental contact.
• Participates in performance improvement projects and active care team coordination of patient care.
