Job Description

The Principal Clinical Program Pharmacist is responsible for implementing the strategy and developing clinical product(s). This role is responsible for keeping the product(s) competitive by understanding market problems, executing the product roadmap, and maintaining clinical criteria. The role requires routine interaction with leadership regarding the product strategy and collaboration with other departments to ensure strategy execution. The Board-Certified Oncology Pharmacist position provides subject matter expertise and direction for Prime’s Oncology Medical Specialty programs, supporting Prime’s oncology business objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Provides subject matter expertise in Oncology to improve programs (90%)
  • Develops and manages complex clinical product initiatives including clinical criteria (20%)
  • Analyzes market information, clinical guidelines, and claims data to support product strategies (20%)
  • Coordinates, launches, and implements new products and process improvements (10%)
  • Represents the Clinical department during customer requirement sessions (10%)
  • Oversees regulatory compliance and external representation (10%)
  • Validates clinical product information and participates in user acceptance testing (10%)
  • Establishes cross-functional partnerships to drive decisions and initiatives (10%)
  • May collaborate with client partners (5%)
  • Performs other duties as assigned (10%)
Education & Experience
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science Pharmacy Degree
  • Current pharmacist license in good standing
  • At least 3 years of clinical oncology pharmacy experience
  • Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • BCOP certification required
Additional Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Experience in regulated environments
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects under pressure
  • Experience as a preceptor for PGY1 Managed Care Residency
  • Significant clinical oncology knowledge
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in cross-departmental collaboration
  • Exposure to Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM)
  • PGY1 pharmacy residency preferred
Physical Demands
  • Occasional travel (up to 10%)
  • Sitting, handling, talking, hearing, reaching, standing, walking, lifting as specified
  • Vision requirements including close, distance, color, peripheral, depth, and focus adjustment

All employees must adhere to security, legal, regulatory, and internal policies.

Potential pay ranges from $124,000 to $211,000 based on experience and skills.
