Job summary

Cayuga Health seeks a seasoned Oncology Pharmacist to oversee the infusion pharmacy operations for Cayuga Cancer Center clinics. You will lead staff, ensure safe chemotherapy preparation, and review orders for accuracy in collaboration with physicians and nurses.

The role requires NY licensure, 3+ years of health-system experience (oncology preferred), and optional board certification or PGY training. Onsite work across Cayuga Park Lane and Arrowwood Dr locations supports clinic infusion hours.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy with either a BS pharmacy or PharmD required.
• Experience: 3 years health system experience preferred, 1 year in oncology pharmacy preferred.
• Board Certification or PGY1/PGY2 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Enforces policies and procedures that promote safe, appropriate chemotherapy/medication use.
• Manages oncology pharmacy staff and oversees admixture production, verification, labeling.
• Reviews physician orders for completeness and appropriateness; consults with physicians and nurses as needed.
• Develops medication protocols, order sets and performs utilization reviews to optimize drug therapy.
• Collaborates with clinicians to plan and monitor drug regimens and safety.
• Handles preparation and management of chemotherapy spills and extravasation risks.
• Uses pharmacy information systems effectively and ensures accountability for dispensed medications.
