Job summary

Cayuga Health in Ithaca, NY is seeking an Oncology Infusion Pharmacist to oversee chemotherapy/medication use in Cayuga Cancer Center clinics. You will ensure safe, compliant medication practices and collaborate with physicians, nurses and pharmacists to optimize cancer care.

The role requires an ACPE-accredited pharmacy degree, NY licensure, and 3 years in a health system with oncology experience. Onsite in Ithaca; competitive pay and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy with either a BS pharmacy or PharmD required.
• 3 years health system experience preferred, with 1 year in oncology pharmacy practice preferred.
• Board Certification or PGY1/PGY2 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Enforces policies and procedures that promote safe, cost-effective chemotherapy/medication use.
• Manages oncology pharmacy staff in production of admixtures, verifies procedures and labeling.
• Reviews physicians' medication orders for completeness and appropriateness prior to dispensing; consults with physicians/nurses as needed.
• Develops medication protocols, order sets and performs medication utilization reviews to optimize drug therapy.
• Collaborates with health care professionals to plan and evaluate drug regimens; participates in multidisciplinary committees.
• Maintains competencies supporting Clinical Research Service of Cayuga Cancer Center.
