Job summary

Piedmont Healthcare is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care under supervision within a Georgia-based facility. The role involves both clinical tasks and front/back office duties to ensure smooth patient flow and care delivery.

Ideal candidates will have a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program completion, and CMA-AAMA certification with BCLS. At least one year in a medical office is preferred or two years of related clinical experience.

Qualifications

• Education: GED/HS diploma required; graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program required.
• Work experience: 1 year in a medical office setting; or 2 years of related clinical experience in lieu of degree/certification.
• Licenses and Certifications: CMA-AAMA or similar certification; BCLS certification required.

Responsibilities

Responsible for providing a variety of patient care activities under the supervision of a physician, physician extender, or registered nurse in accordance with established guidelines and standards. Duty assignments vary and include, but are not limited to front office and back office functions.

Qualifications

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required and
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or completion of a Nursing Assistant program Required or
• In Lieu of formal education program, two (2) years of medical assistant or related clinical experience is Required

Work Experience

• 1 year of experience in a medical office setting with completion of a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program. Required or
• In lieu of degree /certification from a Medical/Nursing Assistant program, two (2) years of medical assistant or related clinical experience Required

Licenses and Certifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)-AAMA Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or a similarly recognized certifying organization Upon Hire Required and
