Job summary

Piedmont Healthcare in Georgia seeks a Medical Assistant to provide patient care under supervision of a physician, physician extender, or registered nurse in accordance with established guidelines and standards. Duties include front office and back office tasks.

Candidates must complete an accredited Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program (or have two years of related clinical experience), hold CMA-AAMA certification, and BCLS upon hire; one year of medical office experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or Nursing Assistant program, or two years of related clinical experience.
• 1 year of experience in a medical office setting with completion of a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program, or two years of related clinical experience if no degree.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)-AAMA certification is required upon hire; Basic Life Support (BCLS) upon hire.

Qualifications:

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required and
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or completion of a Nursing Assistant program Required or
• In Lieu of formal education program, two (2) years of medical assistant or related clinical experience is Required

Work Experience

• 1 year of experience in a medical office setting with completion of a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program. Required or
• In lieu of degree /certification from a Medical/Nursing Assistant program, two (2) years of medical assistant or related clinical experience Required

Licenses and Certifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)-AAMA Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or a similarly recognized certifying organization Upon Hire Required and
• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
