Job summary

Piedmont Heart Institute Physicians is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care under supervision of physicians or NPs in a busy clinic setting.

The role requires completing an accredited MA or Nursing Assistant program or equivalent clinical experience, with BCLS certification on hire and CMA preferred. Office duties will include front and back office tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• H.S. diploma or GED required or equivalent experience.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program.
• In lieu of formal education, two years of medical assistant or related clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care activities under supervision of a physician, physician extender, or RN.
• Perform front office and back office duties as assigned.

ResponsibilitiesResponsible for providing a variety of patient care activities under the supervision of a physician, physician extender, or registered nurse in accordance with established guidelines and standards. Duty assignments vary and include, but are not limited to front office and back office functions.
QualificationsEducation

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required and
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or completion of a Nursing Assistant program Required or
• In Lieu of formal education program, two (2) years of medical assistant or related clinical experience is Required

Work Experience

• 1 year of experience in a medical office setting with completion of a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program. Required or
• In lieu of degree /certification from a Medical/Nursing Assistant program, two (2) years of medical assistant or related clinical experience Required

Licenses and Certifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)-AAMA Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or a similarly recognized certifying organization Upon Hire Required and
• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
