Job summary

Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Clinical Observation Unit. The RN will apply the nursing process, delegate patient care tasks, supervise other patient care staff, coordinate care for a group of patients, and consult with the care team.

The unit will care for a broad range of adult patients needing observation, offering protocol-based care for well-defined diagnoses or presenting symptoms such as chest pain, COPD, asthma, and heart failure.

Qualifications

• Must hold active WV RN license.
• CPR certification required.
• Specialty certification preferred.
• Maintains CEUs for licensure.

Responsibilities

• Apply the nursing process, delegate patient care tasks, supervise other patient care staff, coordinate care for a group of patients and consult with the health care team when indicated.
• The unit serves a broad range of adult patients needing observation and will provide protocol-based care for well-defined diagnoses or presenting symptoms.
