Job summary

Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a casual Patient Care Assistant to support the 4 South Department team. The role provides direct and indirect non-professional nursing care under supervision, assisting with routine patient tasks, comfort, and safety, and helping to maintain a clean, organized unit.

Responsibilities include cleaning, taking vital signs, obtaining lab specimens, charting, escorting patients, aiding with activities of daily living, and handling clerical duties and supplies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant degree or West Virginia C.N.A. license or PCT Certification required.
• CPR within 90 days of employment.
• Glucoscan within 90 days of employment.
• 1-2 years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support nursing by conducting patient care activities.
• Take vital signs and obtain lab specimens.
• Chart, escort patients, assist with activities of daily living.
• Manage clerical duties and ordering/receiving supplies.
