Job summary

Illinois CancerCare is seeking a Clinical Nursing Supervisor to lead and support our nursing team. This onsite role reports to Nurse Managers and provides daily mentorship, guidance, and clinical oversight across the clinic.

You will supervise approximately 20 nurses, develop tailored education, participate in orientation and evaluations, and assist with WorkDay tasks as needed. Occasional travel to satellite clinics 1–3 times per week is required.

Qualifications

• OCN certification or intent to pursue within certification timeframe.
• Registered Nurse with previous management/supervisory experience.
• Willingness to travel to satellite clinics as needed.
• Ability to think critically and troubleshoot problems.
• Positive attitude and desire to help fellow nurses succeed.

Responsibilities

• Supervise approximately 20 nurses reporting directly to you and adjust as needed.
• Educate staff based on directives from leadership and practice changes; ensure understanding and maintenance.
• Develop tailored education with Nursing Director and ILCC Educator.
• Mentor new nurses during orientation and beyond.
• Assist with WorkDay tasks such as disciplines, evaluations, and timecards.
• Be available to staff for clinical or practice questions, in the moment.
• Occasionally work in satellite clinics 1–3 times per week as team/charge/float nurse.
• Participate in evaluations and in staff performance reviews with Nursing Management.
