Job summary

Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Clinical Nursing Supervisor for the Inpatient Physical Rehab - Orthopedics department. This Full Time Days position (7a-7p) rotates weekends/holidays and reports to the unit Director/Manager.

Primary duties include directing daily unit operations, staffing, admissions triage, and leading rounds for quality patient care. Qualifications include an active RN license, BSN preferred, BLS/ACLS on hire, and at least 2 years of nursing

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• BSN preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) on hire and maintain.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) on hire and maintain.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily unit operations (Charge Nurse): assign staff to patients, triage admissions, balance workloads, and lead interdisciplinary rounds.
• Support department operations (Clinical Supervisor): schedule management, coordinate onboarding, perform chart audits, and assist with hiring needs.
• Provide frontline leadership: manage escalations, fill staffing gaps, and ensure continuity of care and operations.
• Perform direct patient care, only as needed, within the scope of practice.
• Communicate with staff, physicians, and administration both written and verbally.
