Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Clinical Nursing Student to join the West Hospital Med-Surg team as a Patient Care Technician. You will work under the guidance of an RN to gain clinical experience through shadowing and hands-on care that aligns with scope and delegation.

Qualifications

• HS/GED (required)
• Currently enrolled in a nursing program and has completed one clinical nursing course and one clinical rotation (required)
• BLS (preferred)
• Recent experience in acute care and/or long term care facility (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Assist RN in applying the nursing process and direct patient care
• Record vital signs and provide basic patient care (hygiene, mobility, feeding)
• Document care accurately and timely
• Communicate changes or concerns to the nurse
• Provide high level customer service to patients and families
• Participate in hand-off reports and unit-based tasks
• Escalate concerns through the chain of command
