Job summary

Mercy Health in Cincinnati seeks a Clinical Nursing Student for the Site Float Pool to gain clinical experience under RN guidance. You will shadow RNs and provide patient care within scope, following hospital policies and state regulations.

Requires HS/GED and current enrollment in a nursing program with at least one clinical rotation completed. BLS preferred; EPIC EHR training may be preferred. Mercy Health offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Develops critical thinking with RN to ensure quality patient care.
• Seeks educational opportunities related to nursing practice.
• Provides basic patient care and documentation.
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse for changes or concerns.
• Delivers high level customer service to patients, families, and staff.
• Performs timely and accurate patient care documentation.
• Participates in hand-offs with pertinent information upon arrival and departure.
• Performs delegated tasks after competency is validated.
• Participates in patient data collection including vitals and intake/output.
• Assists with activities of daily living and mobility.
• Uses clinical technology as applicable.
• Escalates concerns through appropriate chain of command.
