Job summary

Grand Canyon University Inc. in Portland, OR, is seeking full-time Clinical Instructors to supervise nursing students during their clinical rotations at partner sites in the Greater Portland area, with theory delivered online and practical lab and simulation experiences.

The role focuses on implementing the academic program, guiding students in clinical, lab, and professionalism, and collaborating with Clinical Lead Faculty to ensure course alignment.

Qualifications

• Two years of successful professional nursing practice with an MSN
• Five years of experience with a BSN
• Two years of teaching/precepting experience (preferred)
• RN licensure required; WA RN license a plus
• MSN or BSN with 12 credits of MSN earned and commitment to enroll in MSN program on hire

Responsibilities

• Facilitate effective student learning in the clinical setting and online learning environment
• Partner with Clinical Lead Faculty to ensure course alignment in the clinical setting
• Provide guidance for students in clinical/lab related to professionalism, practice, and research
• Collaborate with Healthcare Partner and support adjunct faculty as needed
• Maintain knowledge of extended campus nursing curriculum, policies, and requirements
• Maintain clinical competence in area of expertise
• Perform grading, skills check-offs, lab support and student office hours
