Job summary

The University of Houston College of Nursing invites applications for a 12-month Clinical Assistant Professor, Promotion-Eligible, Non-Tenure-Track (PE-NTT) to lead the BSN program. The ideal candidate will display exceptional leadership, scholarship and teaching excellence and will begin in Spring 2027.

Qualifications

• Earned PhD in Nursing or related field; if related field, MS in Nursing from a professionally accredited college of nursing.
• National certification in clinical specialty area.
• License in Texas as a registered nurse at time of hire.
• Strong communication, writing, problem-solving, and interpersonal abilities.
• At least 5 years full-time academic experience with excellence in teaching/mentoring, scholarship and university service.
• Published in peer-reviewed journals.

Responsibilities

• Lead ongoing curriculum development and evaluation.
• Provide classroom and clinical instruction in undergraduate programs using on-site, simulation, and distance education strategies.
• Travel as needed; participate in college and university committees.
• Engage in scholarship, service and academic advising.
• Collaborate with faculty to support BSN, MSN, and DNP programs.
