Job summary

The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a motivated Urology Clinical Nurse Specialist to lead care for penile cancer and andrology patients. Based at the Paul Sykes Centre, you will work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care and drive service improvement.

You will bring extensive nursing experience in oncology/urology, strong leadership, and the ability to deliver education and evidence-based care.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with UK general nursing registration and relevant experience in urology or oncology.
• Experience in service development and working within MDTs.
• Ability to lead and educate teams in patient care pathways.

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate individual to join the Urology Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) team in a pivotal role across the penile cancer and andrology service. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-quality, patient-centred care within a dynamic multidisciplinary team.

The role requires an organised, proactive individual who is confident working independently and under supervision, and who is committed to maintaining the highest standards of care. The jobholder will carry continuing responsibility for a defined caseload, including the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care. The jobholder will provide highly specialised nursing advice and care to adults diagnosed with penile cancers aswell as cover the andrology service.

The job holder will contribute to the development of the speciality service in collaboration with the wider MDT as well as contributing to the strategic direction of nursing within the Trust.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a dynamic, motivated and forward thinking Nurse to join the Urology Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) service based at the Paul Sykes Centre.

This is a unique role for an experienced nurse with a passion for service development, innovation and improving outcomes for patients with urology cancers and work within andrology. The post holder will work collaboratively with the CNS team, multidisciplinary colleagues and key stakeholders across Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust to support and deliver key service improvement projects aligned with national cancer strategies and local priorities.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving forward quality improvement initiatives as well as identifying areas for improvement, implementing evidence-based changes, and evaluating outcomes to ensure high standards of patient-centred care. The individual will have excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills, alongside a strong clinical background in oncology or urology nursing.

This role also includes contributing to structured teaching programmes, developing patient information resources, and promoting best practice across the multidisciplinary team to enhance knowledge and consistency of care within urology services.

• Work flexibly across ward, clinical department, or community settings as required.
• Comply with PPE requirements appropriate to the clinical setting, including prolonged use of face masks where necessary.
