For a limited time, MaineHealth is offering up to $10,000 sign-on bonus for eligible experienced Registered Nurses with 1-3 years of experience, and $20,000 for those with more than 3 years of experience!
· Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part-time RN position. Bonus amount is prorated for Part-time hires; per diem hires are ineligible.
· Current MaineHealth employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth employees are ineligible until more than 6 months of separation from employment.
R3 at Maine Medical Center is an adult Medical Surgical unit serving patients 18 and over. It includes a section with 6 intermediate care beds. The unit primarily cares for general surgical patients, including vascular, bariatric, abdominal, trauma, complex wound management, and burn patients. Inpatient experience is preferred.
This is a full-time, day shift position, consisting of three 12-hour shifts per week.
Position Summary
The Clinical Nurse supports Maine Medical Center's mission, vision, and values by exhibiting behaviors such as excellence, competence, collaboration, innovation, respect, patient and family-centered care, community commitment, and accountability. In accordance with national nursing standards and Maine Medical Center policies, the Clinical Nurse is responsible for assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, documentation, and evaluation of nursing care. Care begins with the initial contact with the healthcare system and may continue across the continuum, including inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory, and community settings.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
· Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred.
· License/Certifications: Current Maine RN license.
· Experience: At least 1 year of RN experience; Level I usually achieved within 12 months. Wound/burn, telemetry, or charge nurse experience is preferred. Experience caring for post-op surgical patients is strongly preferred.
· Evidence of 10 hours of ongoing education annually.
· Demonstrates caring nursing practice and promotes a healing environment for patients and families.
· Possesses the knowledge and skills to care for most patient populations on the unit.
· Effective interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
· Ability to identify potential crises and initiate appropriate actions.
· Clinical Nurse II may choose to remain at Level II without seeking advancement to Level III, in accordance with the Clinical Nursing Advancement Program.
