The primary purpose of this Clinical Nurse position is to positively impact patient outcomes by providing, coordinating, and supporting evidence-based direct care across the continuum of care, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care and optimal resource use.

Key Functions

1. Transformational Leadership: Organize and prioritize work, administer chemotherapy/biotherapy, manage emergencies, and ensure continuity of care through education and coordination.
2. Structural Empowerment: Participate in shared decision-making, identify barriers, and develop organizational partnerships to improve outcomes.
3. Exemplary Professional Practice: Train and support team members, manage patient care, and collaborate with physicians and families to plan and evaluate care.
4. Knowledge and Innovation: Integrate research findings into practice, lead or participate in evidence-based projects, and redesign care delivery.
5. Quality Results: Ensure safety and quality standards, report incidents, and contribute to quality improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Preferred: At least one year of clinical nursing experience, preferably in oncology.
• Required Licenses/Certifications: Texas RN license, BLS or CPR; ACLS and PALS if applicable to specific departments.

Note: All nurses with less than one year of RN experience will participate in the Clinical Nurse Residency Program.
