Job description

Join to apply for the Clinical Nurse Manager role at Float Health

About Float

Float is the full-stack platform for Specialty Pharma home infusion. We’re on a mission to make healthcare safer, easier, and more efficient by connecting SuperNurses to home medication visits — moving all care that doesn’t need a hospital to the home.

Float connects nurses with patients so they can receive treatments for their chronic conditions at home instead of in overcrowded hospitals. Our model benefits all stakeholders — patients get more convenient care, nurses access flexible work for better pay, pharmacies fill more prescriptions, hospitals reduce low-reimbursement admissions, and payors enjoy 12x reduced costs with home-delivered care.

Having closed our Series A in 2023, we’re at an inflection point in our growth. We’ve demonstrated multi-state expansion, validated strong unit economics, and boast remarkable retention of patients, nurses, and pharmacies. We’ve facilitated over 45,000 patient visits and are scaling our platform, team, and operations to serve more geographies and patients.

The Role

Float Health is seeking a Clinical Nurse Manager to lead our Clinical Operations team and oversee our team of four Clinical Resource Nurses (CRNs). This role involves managing the strategy and daily operations of the CRN team. It’s an excellent opportunity for a clinical leader interested in a start-up environment where they can influence the success and development of the clinical team.

Our CRNs serve as a critical link between our independently-contracted field nurses and our pharmacy partners. They handle escalations, navigate complex clinical scenarios, and provide ongoing education to ensure top-quality patient care in the home setting. The role requires clinical expertise in home infusions, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage and grow a team while also contributing individually. Over time, this role will evolve into a full-time lead position as the team expands.

The platform supports nurses, patients, pharmacies, and internal teams. You will need to understand our proprietary platform and communicate team needs to our Tech/Product teams.

What You’ll Do

  • Set team strategy, define and track KPIs, and write quarterly OKRs aligned with company goals
  • Create and communicate a clear vision that supports our growth
  • Develop tools and systems to empower the team and support your transition from player/coach to leader
  • Manage team schedules, hiring timelines, and facilitate hiring processes
  • Coach and develop team members, fostering a positive team culture
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency and process improvements
  • Collaborate with the tech team to improve processes supporting field nurses

Clinical Support

  • Manage and refine treatment and partnership protocols
  • Develop and update policies and procedures
  • Provide real-time clinical support to nurses in the field via phone and text
  • Assist with advice on IVIG administration, vascular access, infusion practices, and medication protocols
  • Review orders and charting expectations with nurses

Clinical Compliance Oversight

  • Evaluate nursing performance and address clinical concerns
  • Manage nurse quality issues
  • Represent the team in pharmacy partnership meetings
  • Collaborate with leadership across teams
  • Communicate clinical concerns with pharmacies

Educational Leadership

  • Develop and facilitate ongoing education programs for nurses
  • Conduct educational sessions on home infusions and protocols
  • Offer 1:1 support for nurses on high-risk treatments

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years of nursing experience with a current, unencumbered U.S. RN license
  • 3+ years of successful team management experience
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Proficiency with tech platforms (Google Workspace, Slack, Zendesk, etc.)
  • Ability to present information clearly and engagingly to diverse audiences

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in specialty infusion, emergency medicine, ICU, or oncology
  • Management experience with metrics-driven performance management and team scaling
  • Start-up and remote work experience
  • Lean Business experience

Location and Schedule

This is a fully remote role based in the U.S., operating on PST hours. Candidates nationwide are encouraged to apply. Occasional travel (up to 10%) for onsite and training sessions is required.

Perks & Compensation

  • Medical, dental, vision insurance
  • 401k matching
  • Unlimited PTO with minimum days
  • Paid parental leave
  • Home office stipend
  • Annual learning stipend
  • HSA & FSA options
  • Additional insurance options
  • No commute required

Compensation ranges from $118,000 to $135,000 annually, based on experience and location, plus options grants.

Culture

We’re a Series A startup seeking individuals eager to grow and adapt in a fast-paced environment. We #WorkfortheSuperNurse, believing that supporting our nurses leads to the best patient outcomes. We value diversity and inclusion and are committed to an equitable workplace.
