The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Position Summary
The Clinical Nurse Manager is responsible for managing the overall operations of the Pondfield AAAASF Office Based Procedure Room, including quality assurance, patient care, financial management, physician relations, safety & risk management, equipment maintenance, inventory, and other duties that arise during general operations. The Nurse Manager ensures compliance with OSHA standards, AAAASF standards, and other regulatory agencies, supervising nursing staff, including Scrub and Radiology technicians. The Nurse Manager reports directly to the Site Medical Director.
Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing patient information to the interventionist and clinical team during procedures, including cardiac monitoring, aldrete score, and pain status.
- Monitor patient vitals (HR, BP, O2Sat, EKG) during procedures.
- Gather pre-treatment patient data, monitor medications, maintain drug logs, and assist the clinical team during procedures.
- Assist providers with procedures as needed.
- Assist in recovery room patient care following procedures.
- Gather patient clinical information prior to procedures, including assessments and history.
- Maintain up-to-date narcotic drug logs.
- Maintain accurate patient medical records.
- Complete and record patient history, physical exams, order tests, and formulate plans under surgeon supervision.
- Develop and provide patient education and discharge instructions, streamlining pre- and post-operative education programs.
- Manage initial and follow-up evaluations, postoperative care, and coordinate multidisciplinary care.
- Assist with obtaining and maintaining AAAASF accreditation.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including NFPA, CMS, OSHA, JCAHO, EPA, & AAAASF.
- Serve as primary contact for physicians and practice, communicating clinical concerns.
- Ensure safety training and injury prevention compliance.
- Report staff injuries and adverse events according to policies.
- Manage staff employment activities, including hiring, evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
- Oversee supplies and inventory, liaising with vendors and finance teams.
- Maintain knowledge of formulary, IOS system, and case costing reports.
- Monitor medical equipment status and coordinate repairs or replacements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- BSN degree or equivalent education and experience.
- 4 years of related experience.
- Valid New York State RN license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Proficiency in MS Word and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of medical terminology strongly preferred.
