Job summary

Northwell Health in New York seeks a Registered Nurse to perform age-specific care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation. You will collaborate with physicians and the health team, exercise leadership, coordinate care on the unit, and delegate activities as appropriate.

You will conduct comprehensive assessments, develop care plans, administer treatments, educate patients and families, document accurately, and participate in discharge planning

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Associate’s Degree in Nursing required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State and/or Connecticut.
• BLS required, plus specialized certifications as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient’s physiologic health status.
• Assess patient’s psychosocial health status.
• Identify patient outcome and establish goals.
• Formulate and prioritize the plan of care.
• Implement the plan of care and ensure safety and quality.
• Reassess and revise care as needed; administer treatments.
• Collaborate with the care team and physicians.
• Perform Decubitus Care per protocol.
• Administer medications correctly and safely.
• Educate patient and family; support discharge planning and referrals.
• Perform related duties as required.
