Job summary

The Community Living Center Registered Nurse at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs provides and supervises direct patient care, coordinating education, self-management, and patient satisfaction throughout the care continuum.

Administers medications and procedures per policies, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to influence care outcomes. The role requires a nursing degree (ADN/BSN) with an active US RN license, and adherence to VA qualification standards.

Qualifications

• English language proficiency is required.
• U.S. Citizenship and current RN license in the United States are required.
• Graduate of an ACEN/CCNE accredited nursing program or equivalent.
• Foreign nurse education may require degree equivalency validation.
• Active state license with ability to practice in the VA setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent, evidence-based nursing care to residents and supervise nursing staff.
• Lead nursing education, orientation, competencies and quality improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.
• Ensure accurate documentation and coding with MDS coordinator and RUG scoring.
