Job summary

Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, GA is seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator/Charge Nurse to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care and to coordinate all unit functions during shifts.

In collaboration with the management team, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care, serves as a resource for staff, and upholds the organization’s mission and values to support exceptional patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• ASN required.
• BSN preferred.
• At least one year of acute care nursing experience required.
• Leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high quality patient-centered care.
• Participates in ongoing assessment of quality of patient care services in the unit, in collaboration with the management team.
• Collaborates with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes.
• Supports a patient-first philosophy and engages in service recovery when necessary.
• Supports efforts to improve engagement by implementing nursing strategies like hourly rounds and staff rounding.
• Provides recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff and performance evaluations.
• Assists with staff scheduling and manages labor in alignment with patient care needs.
• Supports inventory control and assists with managing supplies and equipment.
