IU Health in Bloomington seeks an experienced registered nurse to join our critical care team. You will deliver expert nursing care to patients with life-threatening conditions—from stroke to respiratory failure—on a dedicated unit and collaborate with a team of top physicians.

The role requires at least one year of RN experience, an Indiana RN license (or NLC), and active BLS certification. A sign-on bonus of $30,000 is available for eligible part-time and full-time positions through 9/30/2026.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
• Requires BLS certification through the AHA.
• Graduation from a nationally accredited nursing program; exceptions: candidates with >2 years acute care experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Function on the Critical Care Unit in Bloomington Hospital, delivering high-quality care for patients with life-threatening conditions (stroke, respiratory failure, trauma).
• Collaborate with top medical professionals to advance patient care and outcomes.
• All shifts require picking up 1 on-call shift every 6-week schedule.

This role functions on critical care unit in Bloomington Hospital. Nurses on this unit strive to deliver the highest quality care for patients of all ages facing life threatening conditions from stroke to severe respiratory insufficiency, overwhelming infection and trauma. We are dedicated to creating an atmosphere in which dignity, realism and respect is maintained for patients, families and all members of the healthcare team.

Shift: All shifts will be required to pick up 1-on call shift every 6-week schedule.

Qualifications:

• Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
• Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. Exceptions: Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
