Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Clinical Educator/Instructor MS for per diem, rotating shifts at the Central Center for Nursing Excellence in Boston. You will lead orientation, staff development, and evidence-based teaching to promote safe patient care.

The role requires MSN/DNP/PhD, MA licensure, and 2+ years clinical leadership; EPIC and education experience are highly valued. Expect variable hours, weekend coverage, and collaboration with multiple nursing departments.

Qualifications

• MSN (or) DNP (or) PhD required.
• Current certification required or to be attained within two-year period from date of hire.
• Current nursing licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
• Minimum two years of clinical experience as a clinical nurse with demonstrated evidence of leadership progression.
• Demonstrated evidence of competent nursing practice in clinical area or specialty.
• Competency in adult learning principles and a sound clinical nursing knowledge base.
• Teaching experience and/or preceptor experience required.
• Current knowledge of clinical equipment (i.e. Baxter pump, Zoll, glucometer) required.
• Experience demonstrating and teaching basic nursing clinical tasks required.
• Recent Clinical Nurse Educator experience preferred.
• EPIC training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Orientation, training and professional development activities to support nursing staff.
• Facilitate educational offerings on new initiatives, products, equipment, policies, or regulations.
• Track orientation progress for department of nursing hires.
• Support competency training and annual HealthStream completion.
• Provide formal and informal feedback for staff development.
• Serve as nursing practice leader, coach and mentor to staff.
• Collaborate with nurse leaders and other clinicians for ongoing education.
• Participate in committees and task forces related to education and practice.
• Deliver direct patient care in planned or emergent situations.
• Model clinical decision-making and critical thinking in the clinical setting.
