Responsibilities

• Planning: Demonstrates strong organizational and clinical judgment by accurately anticipating resource needs, identifying discrete tasks, setting priorities, and defining dependencies to ensure timely and efficient execution of responsibilities.
• Educational Assessment & Professional Practice: Mentors new clinicians and actively participates in orientation, huddles, rounding, bedside reports, and team communication to foster collaboration and continuity of care.
• Nurse Education Training & Development: Develops and provides educational programs and conferences for team members, mentors novice clinicians, conducts competency assessments, and communicates new information at educator meetings.
• Orientation and Staff Development Criteria: Facilitate unit orientation, maintain annual competencies, manage orientation materials, and support staff education needs.
• Ensures compliance with OSHA, Joint Commission, Board of Health, and hospital standards; adheres to regulatory requirements and promotes patient safety.
• Response to Emergency Situations Criteria: Recognizes emergencies promptly, initiates procedures, maintains emergency equipment, and cooperates with coworkers to run emergency protocols.
