Job summary

College Medical Center in California is seeking a Clinical Nurse Educator to lead hospital-wide nursing education and competency development. The RN will drive orientation, on-the-job training and continuing education to ensure staff meet required standards.

The role requires a California RN license, 3+ years acute care experience, and knowledge of teaching methods and regulatory requirements; certification updates occur within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in specified fields; masters preferred.
• Current RN license in California; minimum 3 years clinical experience in acute care.
• Knowledge of teaching techniques, adult education and evaluation methods.
• Certifications: BLS, CPR, PALS; ACLS and LPS required within 90 days of hire date.
• Knowledge of Nurse Practice Act and Title 22 regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and evaluate hospital-wide educational program for nursing personnel.
• Assist nursing management with performance appraisal information.
• Participate in development, implementation and assessment of policies, procedures and standards.
• Act as consultant and resource for nursing staff; support education growth.
• Keep accurate records of orientation activities and support new staff during the 90-day intro period.
• Coordinates, evaluates, and revises the clinical education performance improvement plan.
• As coordinator of care, supervise patient lifts and mobilization per nurse job description.
