Job summary

UNC Health in North Carolina is seeking a Clinical Nurse to coordinate and deliver patient care in outpatient/physician settings and in hospital environments, following nursing process and professional standards.

You will work with the care team to develop plans, ensure safety, educate patients and families, and promote clinical excellence through ongoing training. This is a full-time onsite role requiring NC RN licensure and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina or a compact state by the day of clinical care.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current BLS certification required for all roles.
• Hired candidates hold relevant certifications per clinical area.

Responsibilities

• Administers patient care under the direction of a physician and collaborates with the care team.
• Provides competent nursing care consistent with policies and procedures.
• Organizes and prioritizes care per patient/family needs with timely resources.
• Collaborates with peers to foster intra/interdepartmental communication.
• Synthesizes data to determine care priorities including physical, psychosocial needs.
• Communicates care plans with patient/family using cultural competency.
• Develops clinical and operational excellence through education and training.
• Promotes a safe, clean hospital environment and infection control.
