Job summary

HCA HealthONE Aurora is seeking an Operating Room Clinical Nurse Coordinator (Charge RN) to help drive patient care excellence on the OR team. You will work under the unit director, directing and coordinating all OR functions during your shifts and serve as a resource to staff and surgeons.

You will ensure compliance with policies, mentor staff, and partner with schedulers to streamline the OR schedule. The role includes call responsibilities and collaboration with CNCs across the department.

Qualifications

• Current licensure in Colorado as a Registered Nurse (RN), or multi-state license.
• BLS certification through AHA or Red Cross.
• ACLS and PALS certification.
• BSN preferred.
• Two years of acute care OR RN experience.
• Previous charge nurse or service coordinator experience.

Responsibilities

• Direct, monitor, and evaluate nursing care in the OR during designated shifts.
• Lead staff, supervise, coach, and assist with evaluations.
• Ensure department compliance with state, federal, and healthcare regulations.
• Collaborate with CNCs to prepare surgical procedures.
• Verify OR schedule and preference cards.
• Coordinate with schedulers to optimize OR flow.
• The position requires call.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) ensures and delivers high quality, patient-centered care and coordination of all functions in the unit/department during the designated shift. In collaboration with other members of the management team, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures, serves as a resource person for staff, and models a commitment to the organization’s vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.

• As an operating room (OR) Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) you willdemonstrateskills as a resource person and liaison between the specialty team members, other staff members, surgeons, and vendors.
• You will assist with the overall management of patient care in the OR,supervisesall staff,assistswith performance evaluations, counseling and coaching of staff, hiring, and day to day operational supervision.
• You willbe responsible forensuring department compliance with state, federal, and healthcare regulatory agencies.
• You will work closely with other Clinical Nurse Coordinators (CNCs) to ensure that surgical procedures performed by specialty team members or other surgery staff members are thoroughly prepared prior to surgery.
• The Clinical Nurse Coordinator verifies the accuracy of preference cards and the OR schedule.
• The Clinical Nurse Coordinator works closely with the surgery schedulers to streamline and verify the flow of the OR schedule.

What qualifications you will need:

• Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multi-state Registered Nurse license.
• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• ACLS and PALS certification.
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.BSN preferred.
• Two (2) years of acute careexperience as anOperating Room (OR) RN.
• Previouscharge nurse/service coordinator experience.
