Job summary

CJW Medical Center is seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator RN in the Medical Surgical Trauma unit at Chippenham Hospital in Richmond, VA. This full-time day-shift leadership role requires 3+ years of acute care nursing and at least 1 year in a leadership capacity, with BSN preferred and Virginia RN licensure.

You will mentor staff, oversee daily clinical operations, and collaborate with leaders to deliver exceptional patient care in a high-volume environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
• Current Registered Nurse license in Virginia.
• 3+ years of current nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• 1 year of medical surgical, progressive care, or trauma telemetry nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• 1 year of leadership experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) Certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day clinical management of the Medical Surgical Trauma unit, ensuring patient- and family-centered care.
• Monitor and respond to acute changes, interpret ECGs, and intervene in emergencies as a role model for staff.
• Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high quality care.
• Collaborate with management to assess and improve the quality of patient care services.
• Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
• Contribute to staffing, scheduling, training, and performance evaluations to ensure staffing efficiency.
