Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the general supervision of the unit’s director, the CNC assumes responsibility for the direction and coordination of all functions in the unit during designated shifts. In collaboration with the management team, this individual is responsible for ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit.

What You Will Do In This Role

• Assess, monitor, record, report, and follow through on symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
• Create and maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
• Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and modify the plan of care based on patient responses and conditions.
• Delegate nursing tasks as appropriate and safe, while retaining accountability for patient care.
• Provide individualized education for patients, families, and caregivers throughout the continuum of care.
• Adhere to safety and infection control standards in the delivery of patient care.

What Qualifications You Will Need

• RN licensure by the Tennessee Board of Nursing or a compact state.
• Associate's degree; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• ACLS and PALS certifications within 1 year of employment.
• CPI certification within 6 months of employment.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of ER nursing experience required (necessary for Day Shift).

Preferred Experience

Trauma experience and prior Charge Nurse experience are preferred, especially for the Day Shift.
