Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, or related field.
• Certification preferred: ASCP (MLS/MT/MB) or equivalent.
• Experience working in a clinical or diagnostic laboratory environment preferred.
• Knowledge of bacteriology, mycology, parasitology, and basic virology testing principles.

Responsibilities

• Perform microbiology testing on clinical specimens including cultures and organism identification.
• Conduct antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) and interpret results accurately.
• Maintain strict adherence to CLIA, CAP, OSHA, and laboratory safety guidelines.
• Collaborate with pathologists and laboratory leadership to resolve testing discrepancies.
