Job summary

Center for Urban Community Services (CUCS) in New York City is seeking a Mental Health Clinician to provide a full range of person-centered services on-site and in the community to a caseload of clients, including counseling, psychotherapy, assessment-based treatment planning, and ancillary services.

The role blends clinical expertise with leadership support when needed and may vary by program site. Master’s degree and licensure preferred; strong interpersonal skills required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work, mental health counseling, or related field required.
• LMSW or LMHC licensure preferred.
• 2 years of relevant pre- or post-master’s experience required.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with clients to develop and implement effective service plans.
• Coordinate and deliver comprehensive services and referrals to meet client needs.
• Provide psychotherapy and counseling services, including substance use counseling.
• Engage in crisis intervention and coordinate with emergency services as needed.
• Lead or participate in trainings and supervise interns where applicable.

Education
