Job summary

US Oncology Inc. in the Twin Cities area seeks a Medical Physicist to oversee treatment planning and provide physics support for external beam and HDR brachytherapy. This on-site role focuses on safety, quality, and collaborative patient care.

With a 0.9 FTE schedule (4-day work week) and a strong emphasis on research, education, and program development, you will contribute to ongoing clinical excellence and a robust radiopharmaceutical therapy program.

Qualifications

• M.S. or Ph.D. in Medical Physics or related field; CAMPEP accreditation strongly preferred.
• ABR certification in Therapeutic Medical Physics preferred; board-eligible candidates encouraged.
• 3+ years of clinical experience preferred and development investment welcomed.
• Experience with Varian platforms (TrueBeam, Eclipse, ARIA) and brachytherapy is a plus; safety-first mindset essential.
• Supports US Oncology Compliance Program and Code of Ethics.

Responsibilities

• Perform treatment planning oversight, plan review, and independent verification for external beam and HDR brachytherapy.
• Deliver physics support for HDR brachytherapy procedures, including GYN, skin, and live ultrasound-based prostate HDR.
• Support radiopharmaceutical therapy program, including dosimetry, radiation safety, and program development.
• Execute and improve the machine, patient-specific, and imaging QA program (TG-142/TG-198, TG-218).
• Participate in chart rounds, peer review, RO-ILS incident learning, and APEx-aligned quality initiatives.
• Commission and evaluate new equipment, software, and techniques; contribute to technology assessment and capital planning.
• Provide clinical instruction and mentorship; contribute to CAMPEP residency program development.
