Penn Medicine is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide clinical support services to patients under supervision of a provider or licensed nurse. You will care for pediatric to geriatric patients in a busy physician office, assisting with rooming, injections, med administration, procedures, and tests.

This full-time role emphasizes patient experience, care coordination, and front-office support across multiple sites, with occasional regional travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required)
• Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (Required). If not currently certified, complete a Medical Assistant training/education program prior to hire and receive certification within 6 months of hire.
• H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
• Education Specialization: Equivalent Experience: 1+ years Medical Assistant experience in a primary or specialty care physician's office

Responsabilités

• Prepares patient for visit by using appropriate rooming standards tool.
• Administers injections, as prescribed by provider and in accordance with practice protocol.
• Prepares and administers medications as prescribed by the provider.
• Prepares and assists providers with various procedures, minor surgeries and other exams as designated by the provider.
• Performs Point of Care Testing, including hearing, flu, urine and strep tests.
• Removes sutures and changes dressings on wounds as necessary.
• Provides clinical advice by phone/electronic correspondence per triage protocols.
• Authorizes prescription refills as directed by the provider.
• Assists in test tracking and monitoring overdue results.
• Maintains and cleans medical instruments and equipment after each procedure.
