Job summary

VHC Health is hiring a Medical Assistant for the Vienna, VA primary care team. The role includes phlebotomy, specimen preparation, vital signs, patient prep, and supporting physicians with patient flow.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduation from a medical assisting degree/program is preferred.
• Six months of healthcare experience is required.
• One year of healthcare/medical - primary care/office experience is preferred.
• One year of medical terminology experience is required.
• Knowledge of the Bloodborne Pathogen Standard is required.
• Experience in clinical pharmacology is required.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy and prepares specimens for labs.
• Takes vital signs and prepares patients for procedures.
• Assists with patient flow and clinical support to physicians.
• Answers phones and makes appointments.
• Collects co-pays and assists with billing and EMR entries.
