Job summary

The Medical Assistant performs clinical and administrative duties in an ambulatory care setting under the supervision of a physician/provider and/or a registered nurse. Duties include venipuncture, medication and vaccine administration, vital signs, and assisting with patient exams and clerical tasks.

The position may float to other sites within the system. Ideal candidates have 6 months of Medical Assistant experience, excellent customer service, and strong patient interaction skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Less than 1 year 6 months experience in ambulatory care required; externship preferred.
• Certifications such as CMA or RMA with 1 year to obtain may be required.
• CPR certification within 90 days required.

Responsibilities

• Support clinical and administrative duties in ambulatory care under supervision.
• Assist with patient exams, venipuncture, medications, vaccines, vital signs and documentation.
• Schedule coordination, patient flow management, and clerical support across locations.
